Laura Kay Keeling

Multidisciplinary artist, Laura Kay Keeling, employs a process-based approach to investigate personal and societal relationships with the natural environment. Utilizing analog and digital collage methods, Keeling’s image-making process integrates elements from her growing archive of ephemera and photographs taken directly from her surroundings. Taking the local, familiar regions around where she works and lives her daily life, Keeling’s images present visually fragmented interpretations both documentary and diaristic in nature.

Laura Kay Keeling’s works have been exhibited extensively across Ontario and internationally in the United States and South Korea. She has received numerous grants from the Ontario Arts Council and her work has been distributed across a range of Canadian popular culture channels including presentation in feature films, music albums and videos, commercial apparel and The Walrus Magazine among others. Alongside her studio practice, Keeling is an active arts administrator and instructor.
