Emily Filler

Emily Filler has developed a whimsical multimedia practice presents brightly-coloured imagery that borders between the representational and the abstract. Her use collage, photography, painting, and printmaking disciplines are integrated to create fantastical floral arrangements that have become a focused area of subject interest.

Two of Emily’s recently created large-scale silkscreen works, Vase of Flowers (for Matisse) and Vintage Bouquet (in rainbows), were created in Smokestack’s Analog studio and exemplify her characteristically vivid visual vocabulary.

Emily Filler holds a BFA from Queen’s University, ON. Her work has been widely exhibited in solo and group exhibitions across Canada, and internationally in the United States and the United Kingdom. Select solo-exhibitions include those at Muse Gallery, Toronto ON; Newzones, Calgary AB; Terence Robert Gallery, Ottawa ON; and Rebecca Hossack Gallery in New York USA, and London, UK.
