Jenn Law’s practice involves printing poetic sentiments onto the leaves and petals of wild and domestic plants.

For her sub rosa series (referencing the Latin phrase “under the rose”, historically denoting secrecy or confidentiality), Law letterpress prints furtive correspondences onto rose petals. The first step of a multi-print endeavour, each rose is taken apart to print and then reassembled into new compositions, often partly concealing or obscuring their texts in the process. Within the act of deconstruction lies the possibility for transformation.
