Abraham O. Oghobase (born in Lagos, Nigeria) investigates the narrative and material potential of images. His photo-based research and explorations challenge the limits of conventional image-making and representation, confronting issues around knowledge production, land, and colonial history. Embracing the power of abstraction, Oghobase reveals new possibilities of meaning and shared connection.

Abraham O. Oghobase’s work has been exhibited widely including presentation at the 2024 Toronto Biennial of Art; the 2024 Venice Biennale; Museum of Modern Art, New York; the Art Gallery of Ontario, Toronto; Goodman Gallery, Johannesburg; and Pace Gallery, London. His work is held in the permanent collections of the MoMA; Art Institute of Chicago; Ackland Art Museum, University of North Carolina; and Museum of Contemporary Art, Kiasma, Helsinki. Oghobase holds an MFA in Visual Arts from York University, Toronto. Oghobase is currently based in Hamilton, ON
