“Oak on a leaf”
Dianne Bos investigates light, nature and perception using a wide range of distinctive photographic processes and tools. Produced on the occasion of Bos’ 2025 exhibition at Smokestack Gallery, Chêne sur une feuille demonstrates the results of her explorations with cholorphyll printing. Utilizing her personal collection of dried plant specimens, Bos transforms these samples into photographs by using sunlight to expose images onto the surfaces of leaves. Chlorophyll prints are made using the natural chemistry at work in a living plant – what could be considered the ultimate sustainable photographic process.
