We’re thrilled to announce the launch of a brand new Online Exhibition platform through Smokestack Gallery, and even more so to inaugurate the launch with the work of Canadian artist Emily Filler.
Bouquets is the first of a series of exclusively available online exhibitions to be unveiled through sequential programming much like the exhibitions presented in our physical gallery space.
Emily Filler has developed a whimsical multimedia practice incorporating a vivid use of colour in imagery that borders between the representational and the abstract. Creation of the print works included in
Bouquets continue her development of fantastical floral arrangements through her explorations of an integrated use of collage, photography, and painted elements, ultimately presented in the silkscreen medium.
Emily Filler holds a BFA from Queen’s University, ON. Her work has been widely exhibited in solo and group exhibitions across Canada, and internationally in the United States and the United Kingdom. Select solo-exhibitions include those at Muse Gallery, Toronto ON; Newzones, Calgary AB; Terence Robert Gallery, Ottawa ON; and Rebecca Hossack Gallery in New York USA, and London, UK.
