Home Sweet Home is one of Ferreira’s most recent projects in silkscreen printing. With its companion piece – Home Away From Home – the prints reflect his impressions of “home”, particularly a feeling of home informed by interconnected experiences and memories across two distinct geographical/cultural spaces. Characteristic of his process, photographs from Ferreira’s personal and family collections were drawn upon as the primary source material for development of the landscape and figurative imagery elements. Evocative of post-card designs, the works draw playful connection between Trinidad and Hamilton: the grounding locations of Ferreira’s self.

Ferreira holds a BFA from Hamilton’s McMaster University, and an MFA from the University of Arizona in Tucson, AZ in the United States. His work has been exhibited in solo and group exhibitions in Canada and internationally in the United States and the Caribbean. He is currently based in Hamilton, ON.
