Verburg expands the language of printmaking, using its tools in painterly and unconventional ways. His 2025 Untitled/Seascape (acceptance of the inevitable) series expands on his considered experimentations with newsprint. Capitalizing on the potential of the paper (soft, absorbent, versatile) Verburg reframes any conception of newsprint as a disposable, preparatory material into a support for presentation of highly-refined art.
