David Trautrimas explores contemporary cultural phenomena in a multi-disciplinary practice that employs laser-cut acrylic assemblage, photography, sculpture, and printmaking. His 2024 Analog Print Residency at Smokestack studio introduced opportunity for his experimentation with an entirely new medium: cyanotype. Created during his residency, Choir Practice is an expansive series of 39 cyanotype prints of reimagined eye-wash station signage. In Trautrimas’ versions, the direction of the graphic eye droplets is reversed.
